The HBsAb Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma Test cassette is a rapid immunochromatographic test for the visual detection of hepatitis B virus surface antibody (HBsAb) in whole blood, serum or plasma samples. When the specimen is added into the test device, the specimen is absorbed into the device by capillary action, mixes with the antigen conjugate and flows across the pre-coated membrane.
When the antibody levels are at or above the detection limit of the test, HBsAb in the sample combine to the antigen conjugate in the pad then are captured by the Ag immobilized in the test region (T) of the device. This produces a visible colored band in the test region (T) which indicates a positive result. When the antibody levels are zero or below the detection limit of the test, there will be no colored band in the test region (T), which indicates a negative result. To serve as a procedure control, a colored line will appear at the control region (C), if the test has been performed properly.
